Why choose a pediatric dentist?

I brought my 1-year-old in for a dental checkup after a little mouth injury, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the experience we had! Taking a toddler to the dentist is never easy, but Kayla and Dr Karina were incredibly patient, kind, and thorough throughout the visit. Kayla was so interactive with my baby, helping him feel at ease while still giving me all the information I needed. Highly recommend!

We were seen today for a recommended tooth extraction. The staff was absolutely perfect. My daughter was terrified (admittedly). once she voiced her fear, the staff made sure they explained everything and made her feel comfortable with every aspect of her procedure. Dr. Karina had stellar bedside manner throughout and made sure she explained things at a pediatric level. I could not have been more impressed with the entire experience. Her pain was well managed during and after the procedure. I would give 50 stars if I could. As someone who spends time with a lot of doctors, nurses and medical staff, our experience today is what every patient interaction should be. Thank you for taking such excellent care of our girls every time! But especially this time!

South Coast Smiles was so patient with my son who has some special needs! We had a very traumatic experience with our last dentist and both Dr. Sean and the dental hygienist, Amy, were understanding and willing to take their time to earn his trust. If your child has sensory needs or is just not a fan of the dentist I would suggest trying South Coast Smiles. My son left his appointment skipping and smiling!

This week my daughter had her 2nd visit here and it was just as wonderful as the first time. The staff is so friendly and equipped with the patience to deal with little toddlers. We also met the new Dr, Dr Karina, and she was wonderful as well. I would recommend to all my friends and family!

They have taken my horrible situation with a pediatric dentist and helped my son out with his special needs properly and patiently. explained all the procedures and broke down the bills properly. I had no questions or concerns about the visit.

I just want to say I am over and over again impressed with the care Dr. Sean has. He is so inviting and kind, and today went out of his way to follow up to discuss my son’s situation. I honestly don’t know ANY doctors that do that, and it’s so deeply appreciated. 10/10. So glad he came to Southcoast smiles. I love it there.

My daughter has significant anxiety, every staff member interacts in a way that makes her feel comfortable. She always knows what to expect and what will happen next. They explain things in an honest yet kid friendly way (my daughter wants to know the details and I have given the ok to do so). The process from walking through the door to leaving is smooth and time friendly, yet you never feel rushed to leave until you have asked any questions you have. I could not be happier with our experiences at South Coast Smiles.

Highly Recommend - prior to our visit with South Coast smiles we went to another office and my daughter was scared if you even mentioned dentist after that experience. We immediately made the decision to try someone else and this team at SC Smiles goes above and beyond to make your little feel comfortable, safe and cared for. Dr.Sean had patience and care - Stephanie was great and went above and beyond to ensure my daughter felt comfortable and happy. We are no longer scared of the dentist and can’t wait to return. I've been taking my children to the South Coast Smiles for the past 3 years. All the hygienists and Dr. Sean have a great demeanor with young children. People are always surprised when I say my kids (5, and 8) actually enjoy the dentist and I attribute it to the staff there. My kiddos have perfect healthy teeth and whenever there's been a concern the staff professionally explain next steps or any additional home care I need to address. I highly recommend this office for people with kids.

I've brought my kids here for twenty years. The staff is just amazing. They are absolute pros at putting children and teens at ease. I was just there with my teen and the hygienist and dentist engaged him in conversation and expressed genuine interest in everything he’s up to in life. My daughter had a cavity filled as a teenager. They were so gentle and adept at distracting her, she didn’t even realize she had received a shot of Novocain in her mouth! They’re truly the best. The front desk staff is also great.
